Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows you to meet with a commissioned notary through a secure video platform so that you can complete your notarization safely and conveniently from the comfort of your home or office.
Before your appointment, please review the following essential requirements to ensure a smooth and successful session.

✅ What You'll Need for Your Online Notarization
• Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
You must present a current U.S. Driver's License, State ID, or U.S. Passport. Your ID must clearly display your full legal name, photo, and signature. Expired or temporary IDs cannot be accepted.

• Reliable Internet Connection
A strong Wi-Fi connection is required to maintain clear video and audio throughout your session. Avoid using public or unsecured networks to protect your information.

• Device with Camera and Microphone
You may use a computer, tablet, or smartphone. The notary must be able to see and hear you at all times clearly.

• Your Document Ready for Notarization
Your document must be complete and approved for Remote Online Notarization (RON) to proceed. Please review all pages in advance. Notaries cannot draft, edit, or provide legal advice about the contents.
 
                                                 If your document requires witnesses, please have them available and ready to join your online session.

• Identity Verification
Every online notarization requires a secure identity check before the session begins. Most states use multi-step electronic verification, which may include:

• Answering knowledge-based security questions — such as questions derived from your credit or public records.

• Uploading your government-issued ID for digital credential analysis to confirm its authenticity.

• In some states, including Florida, Texas, and Virginia, you may also verify your identity using biometric technology, such as facial recognition or fingerprint scanning, for an added layer of security and convenience.

These advanced verification steps are designed to protect your identity and ensure your notarization fully complies with state and federal online notary laws.

• Physical Location
Your notary will be commissioned in their respective state, and the notarization will comply with that state's laws.

• Signer Awareness & Willingness
You must appear alert, aware, and willing to sign. The notary cannot complete the notarization if you seem confused, impaired, or under pressure.

• The notarization will take place on a secure, encrypted audio-video platform approved for online notarization.

• You'll sign electronically on the screen while the notary observes in real-time.

• The entire session will be recorded and securely stored as required by law for your protection and verification.

• Your notarized document is legally valid in all 50 states and may be downloaded, printed, or shared electronically.

• If your document requires international use, Rey Ethan Mobile Services also provides Apostille and document legalization services upon request.
